Literature Text

Once upon a time,
In a land not far away,
There lived a Handsome Prince
And the Dragon he must slay.

The Dragon found a Maiden,
Beauty beyond compare,
A fiercely guarded treasure
Kept safe within his lair.

Our Hero seeks such beauty,
And so the Prince he said,
"I'll rescue this fair Maiden,
And take the Dragon's head!"

Unto the Dragon's cavern
Prince rides upon his steed,
Into the chamber of his foe
A great charge does he lead.

With firery breath this Shining Knight
Put firmly to the test,
For in his heart the Dragon knows
Our Maid deserves the best.

The Maid falls for Prince Charming
Together they depart.
And as they flee for Castle Fair
Stab the Dragon to his heart.

And thus our tale of True Love ends
A story oft' repeated.
Our Hero happy with his prize
The Villain lies defeated.

If Dragon lives, despite his wounds
Our story starts again.
Each person must accept their place
Beneath the Author's pen.

And thus is my conclusion,
As in my cave I sit
I am no-one's Prince Charming...
But the Dragon I do fit.
A poem expressing my inner feelings on romance, and my place in the world...

I like how you took a story which we've heard millions of times and re-created it! The rhyming is exceptional (I think that makes sense ^^;) and.. wait WHAT?! Are u saying U were the dragon in the poem... or story! Or I just read it wrong.
